FAQ
Getting your first tattoo can be a bit nerve wracking.
Heres some answers to my most asked questions to help you out.
DOES IT HURT?
I get asked this all the time. My answer is always yes, (it is needles after all) but it varies from person to person. I have tattooed full day rib pieces without a problem on one person, and the next person will have trouble with a 30minute forearm. So the answer is, you never know until you do it and always place your tattoo where you want it, not where you think it will hurt the least. You are in control of the appointment and ill never pressure anyone to finish if they want to stop.
CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM?
Yes! but its not something I supply/reccomend myself.
Numbing cream needs to be applied before the appointment and kept on right up until stenciling. It can work well for smaller tattoos, but it can wear off quickly and this means that as the nerves start to wake up during a larger tattoo it will actually feel more painful.
It also means that if we need to reapply it will add a lot of time to your session & makes it very difficult for me because it also removes the stencil if applied on top.
Please let me know if you plan on using it in advance.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY TATTOO?
Tattoo aftercare is pretty simple. I will wrap your tattoo with film and cream which should be kept on for 1-2 hours. after this, wash your tattoo with warm soapy water and pat dry with a clean towel.
Apply your aftercare cream 2-3 times a day with clean hands. If your tattoo feels soggy you have too much cream on; wash it and let it dry out. Its important to avoid swimming and baths until its healed (2-3 weeks) and resist the urge to peel that scabs off or you risk scaring and Ink loss.
CAN I CHANGE MY DESIGN/IDEA?
Yes of course, but I need to know In advance and keep in mind this may change your quoted time/price. Minor changes that can be done on the day can usually be accounted for, but any major changes at short notice (adding new elements, removing elements or completely new designs) will usually require hours of work to redraw which means you will have to cancel your appointment. Please have a set idea for your tattoo before getting a quote, and let me know ASAP for any changes so I can accomodate before your appointment.
CAN I SEE THE DESIGN BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
I rarely send out designs before the appointment usually because I am so busy drawing that I don't get designs completed until a day before the booking. This is why its important to give me any specific details you'd like in your artwork in your original quote.
In the past Ive had issues with clients cancelling and then using the design themselves for a home job or another artist.
CAN I BRING A FRIEND?
We have a pretty cozy work space, so I Usually allow you to bring 1 support person. Its important that you bring someone who will take the process seriously and wont make you laugh and squirm during the tattoo. (support people must be over 18)
CAN I BRING ENTERTAINMENT?
You're more than welcome to watch a movie, play a game, snack and drink, As long as you’re not moving around too much and I can focus on your tattoo. Sometimes it can help to focus on other things like watching Netflix to take your mind away from the tattoo itself. Please use headphones though, as I like to listen to music also. I promise I wont be offended.
